Innovex is privately held by a group of experienced principals with proven track records. Since 2001, our management has been assisting private and public companies with various venture, development and design services. Each team member brings a slightly different expertise to our mix - the partners of Innovex have a combined 45+ years of consulting experience. Mechanical Design

Designs brought to life through 3D modeling within Solidworks. Sophisticated CAD tools are used to ensure your designs are cost-effective and functional.

Analysis

Structural load analysis - Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a very powerful tool that allows us to analyze mechanical stresses that develop in real-world conditions. Visit our Services page and click under Engineering Design Analysis for more details.

Fluid flow/heat transfer analysis - Using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), fluid flows and heat transfer can be simulated early in the design process to help best develop and optimize your designs. Visit our CFD Simulation page for more details on the many applications of CFD analysis.

Project Management

Our projects vary in scope from quick product analysis to full-fledged equipment design. To control the design and project development process, we use an in-house project management scheme. When dealing with large design projects, we have included with our Solidworks CAD software a Product Development Management (PDM) tool. This powerful management tool ensures your designs and files are properly revision controlled for quick access and record keeping.

Financing

We have developed our own products and managed our own projects - we understand the challenges faced by businesses when raising capital to fund important projects. Working with our clients, we can pursue and help arrange various funding alternatives:

IRAP - The Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) provides grant funding to small and medium-sized enterprises for eligible projects. Eligible projects can vary widely and we encourage the use of this beneficial federal program. We have been recipients of IRAP funding and are very familiar with the process.

SRED - The Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SRED) is a critical tool for any company developing its own business. This decades old government program helps sustain Canadian businesses by providing a refundable tax credit towards costs incurred developing technologies and processes. The eligibility is not limited in scope and can include projects as small as shop-floor experiments. This is a very worthwhile tool for companies to reduce their operating costs.

Venture financing - Larger investments require connections with well-funded networks and the ability to pull in the right connections to the investment opportunity. Our financing arm can help to place funding for your business opportunity in both the private (angel, venture capital) and public markets.

Founding Members

Andrew Ross, P.Eng MESc., is a professional engineer with more than ten years experience developing products and a background in mechanical design and manufacturing. He holds degrees from both the University of Waterloo’s and the University of Western Ontario’s engineering programs. He is a co-founder of Innovex Engineering group. Prior to founding Innovex, Andrew was VP of Engineering for Traction Technologies Inc.

Casey Dundass, P.Eng MESc., is founder of Innovex Engineering Corp, and provides significant expertise in product design, patents, licensing and financing. Prior to founding Innovex, Casey was COO with Traction Technologies Inc., an R&D company focused on product development in the transportation industry and winner of the BC New Ventures competition in 2005. Casey holds a degree from the University of Waterloo and is a University of Western Ontario engineering graduate with over a decade of product commercialization experience.

Dustin Remillard is a drafter and designer with an accolade of cleantech and mechanical projects in his portfolio. He is a graduate of Thompson Rivers University and is a founding member of the Innovex Engineering Corp.

Tim Leggett, P.Eng., P.E., BEng, is a McGill University graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1988 he founded Forensic Dynamics Inc., a leading forensic engineering firm in Canada. In 1999, he founded Traction Technologies and has been the president and CEO since inception. He is considered a leading North American expert in snow and ice and road maintenance issues, and has authored numerous papers on various topics. Tim is also a founding member of Innovex.
